Silly Putty

Cooking is a great way for your child to practice measurement and fractions. Here is a recipe that they might enjoy.

Silly Putty

7 Tablespoons water
7 Tablespoons Elmer's white glue
3 1/4 teaspoons 20 Mule Team Borax
7 drops food coloring

1. Put water and food coloring in a bowl
2. Dump the glue into the middle of the water and mix.
3. Put borax in a little at a time. Stir and scrape the bowl. Don't put too much at a time or it will get lumpy.
4. Knead with your hands for several minutes.

If you store this in a plastic bag, it will last for a while. Vinegar will get Silly Putty out of clothes.

I've tried this with other brands and these work by far the best.
